First day of College

So my first day of college is over. What have I learned? Well, nothing I didn’t already know, with the exception of very basic web design;

Tomorrow will hold much more for me as I’ll be diving into the world of programming and computer architecture.

College aside, it’s the September Apple launch tomorrow, and there is a lot of speculation as to what will be getting released. I have heard from some sources that the 4th generation iPod Touch is due to get the crisp, hi-def resolution screen that the iPhone 4 has. The iPad and iPhone 4 also look set to get iOS 4.01 (citation), so multi-tasking will finally be available on the iPad, although I’m yet to see the appeal of it as a product.

Once more information becomes available throughout the launch, I’ll be Tweeting away like mad. Look out for my friend trying hopelessly to pick holes in everything I say about Apple. (He’s an Apple loyalist, in case you don’t quite suss that one out.)

Anyway, that’s all for now.

In the Beginning...

I am writing this, my first ever blog post from a Starbucks cafe in Dundee. How clichéd. I’m not entirely sure what is going to go into this post since I haven’t done this before, but bear with me.

I’m a 20 year old guy from Carnoustie, Scotland, and I have just started a Computing Software Development course at the college here. Getting onto this course prompted me to start a blog, the contents of which will be primarily tech related, but there may be injections of random musings, or anecdotes.

I had my induction day at college today, where we were given our enrolment forms, library cards, and network IDs and passwords. Since I’ve been to the college before, 2 years ago, to learn about Business Management, this was all par for the course for me. I’m starting the course on Tuesday, and I really can’t wait, as programming is something I’ve really wanted to learn about.

Seeing as I’ve never written a blog before, and have even less knowledge of how to design it, I doubt many people will see this post. Hell, I doubt many people will read the blog in general, but if  I don’t write it, there’s no chance of anyone ever reading it. This post will probably just end up in the ‘About me’ section.

In the future I’ll probably go to Uni, after my two-year college course, to further my studies in the computing field.

I’ll be scouring the Internet for tech related articles to either quote in my blog, with a link to the source, or I’ll try and be witty and creative and write some of my own stuff. What I will write about, no one knows.

I’ll be promoting this blog as much as possible as I want to make this popular, informative, and above all, worthwhile.

Anyway, enough from me, I hope you enjoy the blog.
