Several days ago I received my MSDN account. For those of you who don't know, MSDN stands for Microsoft Developers Network. With this account you can download a plethora of Microsoft products for free. I downloaded both the 32bit and the 64bit client of Windows 7 in the middle of last week. I also need to download Microsoft Visual Studio, for programming.
I had some problems with installing Windows 7 on my laptop and my desktop. I burned the 64bit ISO to a DVD, popped it into my laptop to check it was working, and it was. Then I went to burn the 32bit ISO to a DVD, but it didn't work the first time, the second time, or the third time.
I eventually installed it onto my laptop, but my desktop is still out of commission.
MSDN is a fantastic thing, it gives students like myself the opportunity to revise what they've been learning in school without having to shell out the best part of £500 for the software. So, for this I can't complain.
I can complain about not having access to my desktop though.
